Sno-Isle Libraries will continue to serve the nearly 750,000 residents of the library district.
The additional funding would enable Sno-Isle Libraries to maintain the current level of services, programs, resources and existing hours of operation for all 23 community libraries, online services and bookmobile services.
Voter approval would increase the Library District’s levy rate by 9 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value in 2019 and the resulting levy rate would be 47 cents per $1,000 of assessed value. This would result in approximately $9.5 million in additional funding for library operations in 2019.
Sno-Isle Libraries would manage the additional funding to maintain current service levels and save a portion of each year’s funding for future years when forecast market cost increases will surpass forecast levy funding. This will enable Sno-Isle Libraries to make available funding last from 7 to 10 years before the need to return to voters for help.
