The cost to an individual property owner is based on the value of the property.
If approved by voters, a 9-cent per $1,000 of assessed value levy restoration would add $27 a year to the property taxes for a $300,000 home. The math looks like this: 0.09 x 300 = $27.
County assessors in Snohomish and Island counties determine actual tax levies, but to get a sense of what it would cost you, drop the final three digits of your assessed value from your most recent property tax statement (for example if the property is assessed at $457,450, drop the 450) and multiply by 0.09. In this example, the answer would be $41.13. Or, use our online library tax calculator.
