BiblioCommons is used in many libraries in the U.S., Canada, and Australia and someone may already be using the one you have selected and were using with our old catalog system. Therefore, your login with BiblioCommons may need to be different than what you have previously used. Some people use that old username and just add numbers to it, which makes it unique.
The information below will help you complete the process with less frustration:
Logging in to the new catalog requires two things:
- Your library card number, or barcode. It is the 14-digit number on your card (your current username will not work as it was created in a different catalog program)
- Your PIN (personal identification number) or password. This will be the password you have been using (default is the last 4 digits of your phone number).
Once you have registered with the site you can choose to log in with the username you created, or continue using your library card number.
*Your username must be unique, but otherwise you have a great deal of flexibility when you create a username. The name can be up to 24 characters long, and you can use any combination of letters and numbers, as well as underscores ( _ ). It must begin with an alpha character and it cannot consist entirely of numbers, or use spaces or other non-alphanumeric characters. The best username is one that is easy for you to remember.
