Sno-Isle Libraries has online resources that will help you write a resume and cover letter.  Both of these resources will require you to enter your library card and PIN (the default is the last 4 digits of your phone number) to access. They also require a second step of creating a username and password to use with that specific resource.

Help Now is an online resource that provides Word templates for writing either functional, chronological, or combination style resumes. After your resume is complete, there is a link to upload your resume to have it reviewed by a writing expert, and another link for a live discussion of the resume with a trained instructor (using live chat and a white board).  Here is the pathway: --> Research --> Job Search --> Help Now.  Once you’re on the Help Now welcome page, click on the category, “Adult Learners.” On the next screen, click on “Write a Winning Resume.”

Job and Career Accelerator (JCA) provides slightly more tailoring in choosing a resume style: the process starts with a quick questionnaire to see what job category you’re applying in, your work situation, and amount of job experience before providing a choice of templates to choose from. JCA also provides lists of suggested keywords to use that are job-specific, as well as suggested action keywords.  The advantage of this resource is you can write and store multiple resumes and cover letters, then search for job openings and upload the resume, all from within JCA. Here is the pathway: : --> Research --> Job Search --> Job and Career Accelerator. On the navigation bar, click “Resources,” then “Tools to get hired.” Once you click on “Build a Resume,” you will be prompted to create an account.‚Äč
